A REFERRAL IS NOT NECESSARY

Pelgulinna Maternity Hospital is always staffed by doctors who will handle emergency cases.
 

The following types of cases require an emergency (i.e. immediate gynaecological) consultation:
• patients with severe gynaecological bleeding
• febrile patients (with a body temperature of 38 °C and higher) with lower abdominal pain
• patients with severe acute lower abdominal pain
• patients with bleeding during pregnancy and whose waters may have broken
• patients with postoperative problems (where it is less than 1 month since the operation)
• victims of sexual violence

 

The Emergency Reception Room is not meant for extensive tests, but aims to determine the patient’s condition, the nature of the possible disorder and the necessary response speed. Most problems are solved on an outpatient basis.
